Crew Challenge 244 King of the Sedans
We now have two competitive Sedans so this is a team time trial on a XDBX classic Sedans track, DC's King of the Road.
Teammates must use different models of car. As usual it will be a random draw of teams but with recent winning pairs will be excluded (Con & Skorp CC242, Bry and Ally CC 240, Omar & Ramm CC237)

Mystery Car September 2021

Come and join us for Mystery Car on Wednesday 8th of September at 20:00 GMT. We will start out in free roam at the parking lot in eastern Cypress Flats from where we will have to follow the clues to find the Mystery Car. Once the car is revealed we will all buy it if needed, modify it, then spend the night racing it.
The price of the car will be less than $100k so don't worry about having to spend millions to join in.
The usual rules will apply, don't bring the emergency services along with you in free roam, don't kill other players, race clean and respect the other racers.... Basically don't be a bellend.

Crew Challenge 243 - Flight School

Crew Challenge 243 – Flight School
A solo challenge giving you a chance to improve your flying skills. We're using 2 of the Flight School lessons, accessed by entering the white circle at LSIA where the aeroplane icon is on the map. See this video, for example, if you're not sure where to go. You do need to pass the earlier lessons to get access to these, but getting bronzes is relatively easy.
You need to do two of the lessons
no. 2. Engine Failure
assessed by how close you finish to the landing CP, get as close as possible
no. 6. Formation Flight
assessed by points, gets as many points as you can
Your score for the challenge will be
(points from Formation Flight) – 5 x (distance from Engine Failure)
So the lower your distance in the first part, the less you get deducted from your score for the second part.
Just post your results from each lesson. I will work out your score.

Survive the Hunt 2
Come and join us in Survive the Hunt, where the aim is to... Well... survive the hunt! Wednesday 24th of august 20:00 UK time starting from the parking lot of the Maze Bank Arena.
What is Survive The Hunt?
Essentially, Survive The Hunt is a freeroam game mode where one player is "hunted" by 8+ other players. There is no radar, HUD or name-tags in order to make this a bit more interesting. While there is no set tactic, the most popular and effective one is for the hunted player to "blend in" with the game AI - either on foot or in a car. This means obeying traffic laws, following the road at an AI-ish pace, stopping at traffic lights etc. The hunters can employ a similar tactic to attempt to locate and then ambush the hunted player. Communication is essential for the hunters to work effectively together.

Rules:
Radar, player names & the HUD must be turned off.
All players must stay within the city limits at all times. This area is defined on the map below.
The hunted person has a two minute head-start on the hunters.
Weapons may NOT be used whilst in a vehicle. They can only be used on foot. The idea behind this is that it makes chases a bit more interesting than just head-shotting someone the second they're spotted.
Any type of explosive weapon is banned.
One helicopter is allowed to be used by the hunters. It cannot use any weapons and must not have missiles (to stop cheating using missile lock).
Any type of weaponized or special vehicle is banned as well as any Sports Classic quicker then the Savestra (Like the Retinue Mk II, Viseris & Turismo Classic), all Sports & Supers.
The hunted player may not camp or hide inside buildings, underground areas or in car parks.
They are allowed to briefly stop, but for no longer than a couple of minutes. This does not mean that they are not allowed to drive through road tunnels - they can, as long as they do not stay there for extended periods of time.
The hunted player should not be in the party or voice chat with the hunters.
New Rule 1: The host will give a specific location every few minutes. Time depended on the amount of people attending.
New Rule 2: The Hunted must wear very bright clothes. Preferably the green alien suit if attainable.

The genre for August's Film Club selection, as nominated by @Conwas school/college films. The winning entry, nominated by both @djw180and @Squirrelis George Lucas's ode to his teenage years, American Graffiti.
Set over the last night of summer vacation, the film follows a group of teenagers as they hang out for the last time, cruising in their hot rods, trying to pick up girls and looking to the future. It stars Ron Howard (Happy Days) before he became an Oscar winning director and Richard Dreyfuss (Jaws), with an expansive supporting cast that includes Harrison Ford (you know who he is). Not only did the film fuel the wave of 50s/60s rock 'n' roll nostalgia of the 70s that resulted in the sitcom Happy Days and culminated in the smash hit musical Grease, but it was also so successful that it enabled writer/director George Lucas to self-fund his next project, Star Wars.
This is the only George Lucas film that I haven't seen (if you've never seen his debut film THX 1138 you need to check it out), and is very different from the rest of his filmography which is all sci-fi. This seems like a very personal film to him which I can't wait to see, as he is often criticised for being quite a cold filmmaker. I often wonder what kind of films Lucas would've made if Star Wars didn't take over his whole career.

Come and join us on Wednesday 18th of August at 20:00 UK Time for Dominator Race Night! Just turn up to the parking lot behind Tequi-la-la in any of the 4 generations of Dominator.
We will determine who has the best taste in Dominator before we start a playlist to determine who is the Master Dominator!
The first 4 races we will do mixed racing where you'll be once in each generation. For the other 4 races we will all race one generation per race from oldest to Newest.
Don't worry if you don't own all/any of the Dominators, we can spawn them in for you.
All 4 generations of Dominator will be raced on the night but only the 4 REGULAR versions. We will not be using the Pißwasser Dominator. It would be nice if we'd have a reasonably balanced field.

Come and join us on Wednesday the 4th of August at 20:00 UK Time for Monica! Just turn up to the back of the Los Santos Car Meet in your favorite eligible Sports Car you sign up with.
We will determine who has the best car before we start a playlist to determine the winner of Monica!
We will race the Eclipse (Penumbra FF), Integra (Remus), Civic Sedan (Sultan) & RX-7 (ZR-350) against each other. We change into each others cars each race because the cars are slightly different pace from each other. We will be doing Race wars (The drag str*p), a long rockstar like track with traffic and regular races. And more if people see fit.
Don't worry if you don't own any of the eligible cars, we can spawn some cars in for you where needed.
Post below with the vehicle you plan to bring along to get involved! Pick whichever you want but a balanced field would be nice.

Fantasy Olympic Games
The Olympics starts on 23rd July and I'm organising a simple fantasy game. To participate you have to pick your own multi-national team made from a selection of the participating nations. You then score points simply based on what medals your nations win, 4 for gold, 2 for silver and 1 for bronze. The final result comes from the final medals table, but I will do regular updates of the scores as the games progress.
Pick exactly 5 nations
Each nation has been assigned a fantasy value and your team total value can not exceed 100 M$

The values have been worked out in direct proportion to the total medals won at the last 5 summer games.
I'm not listing every single nation here, any not listed worked out at less than 1 M$ but if you want another you can have it valued at 1 M$
You may notice Russia are not listed as they have been banned from team sport. Some Russian athletes may be competing under a neutral flag in individual events, but it was simplest just to leave Russia out. So there is no Russia in this fantasy game
No duplicate fantasy teams are allowed so if you think you have a winner enter it before someone else does
your team must differ by at least one nation to all other teams
There are no substitutions, once you have entered your team that is it

A Bronx Tale [RSC Film Club 32]

This month's category, chosen by @djw180 was play adaptations with the winning film being @omarcomin71's selection of A Bronx Tale.
The directorial debut of Robert De Niro, A Bronx Tale is based on the 1989 autobiographical play of the same name, which was a one man show by Chazz Palminteri, who also adapted the play for the screen. The film is a coming of age story where the young Calogero (Francis Capra/Lillo Brancato, Jr. as child and teen Calogero respectively) is torn between his father Lorenzo (De Niro) and local gangster Sonny (Palminteri).
This is another film club choice that I haven't seen yet so there's not much more I can say. I'm really looking forward to checking this out, not just because I like a good New York crime film, but because I've never seen a film directed by De Niro and it will be interesting to see if his talents as an actor translate when he's behind the camera.

Crew Challenge 240 – Zancudo Green

Crew Challenge 240 – Zancudo Green
A team time trial (if we have enough players) on a Rally Cross track in rally-type cars only. With teams it will be one team mate in sports, the other in sports classics. If solo then either class is allowed, although I assume sports will be best. As usual it will be a random draw of teams but with recent winning pairs will be excluded (Omar & Ramm CC237, Schumi & Lann CC233, Banks & Zmurko CC230)

Retinue MkII, Retinue, Savestra, 190z, Zion Classic, Cheburek, Michelli GT, Nebula Turbo
Sports
Issi Sport, Sultan Classic, Flash GT, Sentinel Classic, Comet Safari, GB200, Kuruma, Omnis, Tropos Rallye, Futo

Sunday Evening Endurance Racing

Gooooood day good peoples of RSC.
Whilst Big Z's SRL is off for the summer why not try popping in for a night of endurance racing (not too endurancey, though) this Sunday 13th June at 9pm UK.
3 races.
3 classes.
This week will be Coupes, Muscles, and finishing off with Sports Classics.
Tier drop. The top third will drop 1 tier, the middle will stay as is, and the bottom tier will go up 1. So please try and have at least one car from the top 3 tiers according to the god of GTA cars Broughy.
The races will take approx. 30 minutes each and 1 pit stop must be made in each race. No pits for the first 3 laps and no pitting on the last lap.
It would be quite lovely if drivers were courteous and didn't brake or kerb boost.
Everyone from XDBX and VANS welcome and all the other crews.

Come and join us on Wednesday the 14th of July at 20:00 UK Time for Helmut's European Autos B Sports! Just turn up to the parking lot of Helmut's European Autos in Paleto Bay just of U.S. Route 1 in your favorite Sports Car you sign up with.
We will determine who has the best car before we start a playlist to determine the winner of Helmut's European Autos B Sports!
We will race the 8F Drafter, Feltzer, Jester (Regular & Racecar allowed), Massacro (Regular & Racecar allowed), Neon & Schlagen GT against each other. You stay the whole night with the car you choose so choose wisely. These cars should be all about the same pace with their own strengths.
Don't worry if you don't own any of the eligible cars, we can spawn some cars in for you where needed.
Post below with the vehicle you plan to bring along to get involved! Pick whichever you want but a balanced field would be nice.
