Domestic Battery 7th Anniversary
It's the crew's 7th anniversary on 28th Jan and this year, instead of a weekend-long marathon of events, the plan is to host our regular weekly events at the same time as usual, but also invite friends and ex-members to come and join us and base the playlists around the greatest XDBX creations throughout the years. There's plenty of room for some additional events as well if volunteers want to host something extra.
The anniversary week will run from Mon 25th to Sun 31st Jan.

The Random Touchpad

The Random Touchpad
Come and join us on Wednesday the 13th of January at 20:00 UK Time for the Random Touchpad! Just turn up to the parking lot of the San An Taqueria Mexican Restaurant north of Fridgit Cold Storage in La Mesa in a stock or close to stock looking vehicle. No custom rims!
You might have seen it before, or might have never seen if before. But GTA has a random car selector! And we will be using it!
We will use this function with customs off in random cars so we wont have half the field driving stock cars and the other customs.
Before each race a random class will be selected in which we use the random function. Only press it ONCE! No cheating using it multiple times to get a better car or even selecting a car yourself! This is just for a bit of fun and you might be shafted by the game but its all in good fun.
We will determine who has the best taste in cars before we start a playlist to determine who is the winner of the Random Touchpad!

1979 Rallye De Paleto January 6th 20:30

The Inaugural Rally De Paleto will be held this Wednesday 6th January.
Where is it?
Paleto Bay is a quaint little town in the North of Blaine County, San Andreas. It's Northwest of Paleto Forest and at the foot of Mount Chiliad. It's mixture of great shops and amusements as well as the Procopio Beach making it a great place to visit for the whole family.
What is it?
Set over 3 gruelling stages totalling more than 35miles the Rally De Paleto promises to break cars as well as spirits as it winds through the Paleto Forest, Chiliad Mountain State Wilderness, Raton Canyon, Cassidy Creek, the Alamo Sea, Mount Josiah and the Grand Señora Desert.
It's a multiclass event with cars and drivers from all over the country taking part and racing on the same course at the same time. Cars will be released in pairs at 30 second intervals with the slower cars at the beginning through to the faster cars near the end meaning everyone will converge near the finishing line in the heart of Paleto Bay for an epic finish of each stage.
Who is in it?
Although there will be over 50 entries in total we'll be closely following 15 of the entrants, each one in a different type of car.

THE SMALL PRINT
We're limited to 16 players as it's a transform race to allow us to race multiple classes.
We'll have 15 racers each in a different type of car and one who is flying round in a helicopter filming and making people nervous.
Full instructions and a very brief tutorial will be given on the night before we start.
We'll be racing non contact as the roads are tight, twisty and fairly unforgiving as it is.
So don a classic racing suit and an open face helmet (it's 1979 after all) then...
Pick a race number and a livery/sponsor from the Entry List above and comment to enter.
COMPETITORS: Between each pairing is a gap of 30 seconds at the start until the final 3 cars. The stages have been timed in roughly in each car meaning the faster cars should be catching the slower cars by the end.

Time for the now traditional holiday challenge, a solo time trial where you do two laps, one in normal weather and one in the snow that is expected to hit LS in the next few days. Add up your fastest snow and non-snow laps.
I don't know yet what the pattern will be for the weather but the challenge will end at some point in the New Year once we have had enough non-snow days to make use of. So you should have a couple of days before the snow arrives to get some laps in now. Then the snow may stay till after New Year or there may be a non-snow gap in between.
It's in custom sports classics. You can use different cars for snow and non-snow.
The track is Gordodrome 2019

It's time to get festive at the film club with a double bill of Christmassy goodness. First up, our traditional Christmas film, nominated by @Squirrel, the film that made Macaulay Culkin a superstar, Home Alone.
Written by the king of 80s teen comedy, John Hughes (The Breakfast Club, Ferris Bueller's Day Off) and directed by Chris Columbus (Mrs. Doubtfire, the first two Harry Potter films) Home Alone stars Culkin as Kevin, an 8 year old who is inadvertently left home alone when his family fly off to France for the holidays. Not only does he have to take responsibility for himself for the first time in his life, he also has to protect his home from opportunistic thieves The Wet Bandits (Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern). With a supporting cast that also includes Catherine O'Hara and John Candy, this is a classic Christmas comedy that I'm sure we've all seen before, but won't mind revisiting. It's been a couple of decades since I've seen it, and can't wait to take another trip to the McCallister home. Just watch your step.

We're looking at having a fun night of silly contact racing in the snow together with VANS on Wednesday, December 30th (fingers crossed for there to actually be snow in LS that day).
Time: 20:30 UTC

Races: 10 jobs that have either the actual in-game snow present or modded snow/ice surface, each crew picks 5 races for the event (any classes, any vehicles)
Rules: It's going to be more-or-less M5-dirty, but no deliberate ploughing (unless we agree otherwise during the event)
Is it OK with you if the Wednesday evening of the 30th is used for this, @djw180?
(Anyone interested in joining can start thinking whether they want to see any specific races in the snow at this event and nominate some.)

And now for the alternative Christmas film selection, chosen by @djw180 and seconded by myself, the classic Terry Gilliam surreal satire, Brazil.
Brazil stars Jonathan Pryce (Pirates of the Caribbean, The Two Popes) as Sam Lowry, an office drone for the Ministry of Information who has dreams of flying and a beautiful woman. One day a simple clerical error starts a chain of events that shakes up his world and introduces him to a memorable cast of characters as he tries to fight the system. This film has an amazing supporting cast including Ian Holm, Bob Hoskins, Jim Broadbent, Gilliam's Monty Python chum Michael Palin and Robert De Niro as the most badass heating repair man in film history. This is a bizarre dystopic nightmare that is as funny as it is unsettling (especially the ending) and could have only come from the mind of Terry Gilliam, and is still, in my opinion, his best film by a long shot.
Quick note: there are a few versions of this film, including an awful 90 minute cut. For the best experience, and the one that Gilliam personally recommends, you'll be wanting the 142 minute cut.

Come and join the Us for some off road fun in the snow for Aslad’s Off-Road Adventure Pt4!
Vehicles:
Bring whatever car you wish, though something with reasonable ground clearance is highly advised. Also, in keeping with the spirit of this event, I would ask that you bring something that doesn't have godly performance as it ruins the challenging aspect of this event. Bikes, weaponised, boosted & flying vehicles are not allowed.
How it works:
The event will kick off with a "best car" vote so make sure to make yours as offroady or aesthetic as you can!
We will then set off on a pre-scouted route along the varied and tricky terrain of the east coast of SA. If you get completely stuck or end up in the sea, you may not respawn your vehicle and must ride with someone else until we hit the main checkpoints chosen by myself (I will make you aware when we reach these spots). At these checkpoints, respawning and/or repairing your vehicle is allowed. We will finish at the northernmost tip of the island, and, if time permits, will do a final climb to the top of Mount Chiliad.
Saturday 20:00 UK time, be there or be a leafy meal that most sane people try and dodge!

Crew vs Crew Time!!!! Mixed Playlist Havoc!!!
We are looking at Sunday late December at a EU evening time:
20th before or after SRL?
27th if there is no SRL then that might be better? @zmurko
Before we set details we are checking interest, can we get 15 players?
It will be a mixed playlist.

GT Sports Car Cup: WEDNESDAY 10th FEBRUARY

This Wednesday we'll be racing GT Cars against each other on some of our favourite tracks to see which is the best driver/car combo. You pick one car and you race it all night. Some of these cars are better on the tight and twisty stuff whereas some are better in a straight line so each will have their moment to shine. We'll be doing contact racing and reverse grid for each race.
The 6 cars eligible are:
Massacro Racecar ( i predict a @Trashbags)
Jester Racecar (I predict a @badingaaa and a @AlexHat29
Schlagen GT ( I predict a @Paulie and a @mulder)
8F Drafter (I predict a pink @TheFox2000unitand a @CatManDozawith a roof rack)
Elegy Retro Custom (I predict a @JuniorChubband a special blue @doubleg213)
Coquette D10 (I predict a @Mark Verstappen)
@Warriors-Tenis unpredictable.
It's hard to predict whether @Asladwill turn up...
They must have a racing livery to compete because.... lots of reasons but mainly it just looks better.

Come and join us on Wednesday 16th of October at 20:00 UK Time for the after update Special! Just turn up to the session and we'll see what we're in for.
Due to us not knowing what we'll all get this Tuesday and what everybody might have Wednesday we thought I'd just be best to decide on the night what everybody feels like doing. This could be we'll end up doing races in new cars. But it could also be exploring the new island (If thats possible), checking out cars, going to the new club, listening to over 100+ new songs, doing the heist or a combination of any. It all depends on what everyone feels like doing on the night.
To keep it simple we'll just have a signup list like normal but since this is not really a pre-planned event we'll also see who's online and such on the night to send some invites.

Trying something we haven't done before, darts.
Play 3 successive games of darts, on your own. Fewest darts used to complete the 3 games wins.
It's set to a score of 301 with no way to change that, as far as I can see. I've no idea if anyone is going to achieve the quickest checkout (6 darts I believe, i.e. potentially 18 is the best score), but in case more than person gets the same number of darts we need a tie break. So that will be fastest time from 1st to last dart.
To clearly show how many darts used and to time it should a tie break be needed, save a video starting just before your first game starts and ending just after your 3rd ends.
You must do 3 games in a row; when you start the darts select 3 games.
Any questions / things to clarify?
If people who have more GTA darts experience than me think it could be too easy to get a tie we can increase the number of games to make that less likely. But I think 3 will be enough and keep the videos nice and short.

Vulcar! The forgotten manufacturer. Wed 9th December 2000GMT

This Wednesday we'll be celebrating the often overlooked Swedish manufacturer Vulcar who have been providing Los Santos with a range of reasonably priced cars ranging from the sublime to the Ingot. Despite this they're often forgotten about, not least when it came to making a poster or a playlist this weekend as I promised.
There are some things that we know for sure though and that is that we'll be racing three of the finest Vulcars to grace San Andreas and also the Ingot. A mixture of race tracks and rally stages await that won't have been tested recently in the correct class.
We will most likely do three races with the Nebula Turbo.
We will almost certainly do two races with the Warrener.
I'm thinking maybe two races for the Fagaloa too.
And one in the Ingot.
You don't need to own any or all of the cars. We'll run GTA races so they can be borrowed. I've taken the plunge and bought an Ingot so no one else has to.
Say 'I Got an InGot' out loud when you type it or 'I ain't got an InGot' depending on your status if you would like to take part.

Roofrack Rumble - The Highly Anticipated Return of Catman

Start your December right, with a hot off the press celebration of all things roof based. Bring along your favourite racked and stacked vehicle to the casino car park at 8:00PM on Wednesday for a night of general tomfoolery.
I like to do things a bit different and not race the same old best in class cars, so for this event there will be 8 races all in racked off vehicles. I tried to cover every class, but even your maestro of roofs struggled with some, so the races will be as followed, not necessarily in this order,
Race 1 - Compacts - Panto's
Race 2 - Sports - 8F Drafter
Race 3 - Sports Classics - Nebula
Race 4 - SUV's - Novak
Race 5 - Vans - Rumpo Custom
Race 6 - Sports Classics - Pigall.........Lols only joking - Dynasty
Race 7 - Sports - Sultan Classic
Race 8 - Indy 500 - Regina's - Catch Up & Slip Stream
I have all the cars, so everything can be spawned in for those who, for some reason, don't own a racked vehicle!!!
And finally, as you know, I don't take things too seriously and will be trying my best to find ways to d*ck you all over as best I can throughout the night.
