Clash of the Crews - Season III

A GTA Online league for crews.

  • Every round your crew will play against another crew in a playlist.
  • Each round consist of two weeks and all crew battles in a round will use the same playlist.
  • Each round will feature a new playlist that will be presented on the first Monday of each round.
  • Each crew enters 3-4 or 4-5 players depening the round. The jobs/playlist will be limited to either 8 or 10 players.*
  • All playlists consist of 2 races (non-contact) and 4 combat type jobs.
  • There will be a mix of land, air, sea and stunt races.
  • The combat jobs used will alter each round as classic TDM, LTS and Captures don’t mix well with the Adversary modes.
  • A crews score from each round is made up of the sum of the jobs won. (Race winner determined by the sum of each crews in game points.)
  • During a season all crews play each other once before we head into the playoffs.

News for Season 3:

  • Scores only kept for number of jobs won, no individual player points kept.
  • The playlist is reduced from 8 to 6 jobs.
  • The number of players needed from each crew is reduced to 3-5. It can be different players each round.*
  • This opens up for the possibility to play with uneven number of players (like 3 vs 4).*
  • This opens up for variety in job selection, rounds can be limited to different number of players (we will use 8 and 10 player jobs).*
  • This opens up for new modes to be used, like Sumo and Overwatch Rumble for example.
  • No default time is set for the battles, so both crews will need to put in the effort to agree on a time to play during the two weeks period.

*This is a change made to make it easier for smaller crew to enter the league and to make it less stressfull for all the crew leaders gathering their team.

Then they will alter each round, Adversary, Classic, Adversary, Classic... The reason is they cant be mixed due to keeping teams intact.

Adversary needs to be hosted as a normal playlist, but with Team Balancing OFF so players can switch teams if needed. So make sure your on the right team before pressing ”Ready”!

Welcome all new and returning crews to our 3rd Season of Clash of the Crews!!! We are truly honored to have you join us for another season of this fun and exciting tournament.

Every season has had its stumbling blocks and we have tried our best to learn from them and make changes and apply them accordingly for the following season.

The one constant that we cannot prevent nor do anything about has been LAG. With all the international crews playing through all time zones, varying internet traffic statuses, and unforeseen interruptions, (it’s amazing that we can play together in the first place) things won’t always go smoothly with connections and some people will occasionally benefit from lag. Being the only thing that has ever made things toxic among crews during a Clash season, we felt the need to address lag issues before the tournament begins to ensure everyone that we all are affected by lag, at times it helps us and times it hurts us.

Yes, you will experience lag on your end or from others during the Clash.

Yes, it will be frustrating.

Yes, it will feel unfair.

Yes, you will be front-butt hurt.

But please always keep in mind that the person benefiting from the lag has no control over it and by no means is it being done intentionally to give them an advantage.

Luckily we have never caught any person or crews using lag switches or connection manipulation to win battles or the tournament. We hope to keep that going here in Season 3.

Lag will happen. PLEASE do your best to deal with the occasional disadvantage and more IMPORTANTLY-----DO NOT verbally abuse or attack your opponent(s) due to it.

If you feel an opponent is displaying lag or delays that do not look natural, please save a clip of the game play and make your Clash crew leader aware of the situation so they can pass  the clip along for review.

Thank you for understanding and keeping a cool head during any lag issues you may encounter.

Enjoy the tournament and show no mercy!

Welcome VANS! Happy to let everyone know we now have eight crews claiming a spot!

Thanks for the invite :)

The lower numbers for each team should really help us to get involved Lan.

If you need a hand with anything organisation wise, let me know. Do I need to make an official entry post like AJ has?

The crews agree on a time to play during the round. ”Home” team host unless both agree to change host.

Rounds with adversary jobs are hosted as a regular playlist, just remember to set Team Balancing to OFF in order to switch teams if needed.

Rounds with TDM, LTS and Captures need to be hosted as a Head to Head playlist. Details can be found here: http://www.domesticbatterygaming.com/topic/13361-starting-a-match-in-clash-of-the-crews/

Good post.

It's GTA, it's p2p, lag happens, unfortunately.

I'm sure with less players this season, lag may be less of an issue potentially, as I notice with myself, the more the merrier, the more the laggier too.

Added to the rules in season 3 as we only count job wins: If the racing scores are tied the winners crew gets the win for the job.

Is there scope for other crews to put forward the scheduled playlist for Weeks?

A crew member has pointed out, 'if the organisers are taking part, they could purposely pick and chose what playlist for what crew..' Not that cynical,  myself.  But I thought to remove this, other crews could dictate playlists for future weeks too?

If i understand correct its about the possibility of xdbx as host to either pick jobs in our favour or spreading the info in our crew on upcoming jobs before they are published. Both in order to gain an advantage.

None of that has ever happened or will ever happen.

But on the subject picking jobs is a pita that takes time, and if there is a way to share that workload and still being able control the quality of the jobs i am open to suggestions.

I have no doubts that its all fair and kosher, but in the interest of neutrality, perhaps, future game weeks like three and four,  the playlist could be chosen by someone outside of XDBX who hasn't decided who plays who.

Creating a Playlist of six jobs with appropriate settings isn't very  demanding or too difficult IMHO. I'd happily suggest a few lists.

The structure/plan for the rounds are already set, like what type of jobs each round will hold. I could share that plan, but i do not think we should presents a playlist before the round starts.

Let me/us give it some more thoughts.

If the structure/plan is already in place. Do you mind letting us know... What that means... IE Is it alternating between Four Adversary Modes + Two races... The week after Two TDMS + 1 LTS + 1 Capture + Two Races... then Adversary Modes with races.... I quite like surprises, and it will be funner not knowing tbh.
