What were you listening to in 1992? Older members only obviously.

Recommended Posts

After reading another member's post I was thinking about 1992. And the music I was listening to.

Graduated from high school in 1992 and started work at a record store and lived in an apartment upstairs.

Had access to all kinds of music, bought the store and still run it out of my house as an internet only shop.

Here are 5 songs I was jamming to in 1992

Please share what you were listening to in 1992. If you existed yet and most likely at least 10 years old.

"Tennessee" by Arrested Development

"Doo-Bop" Miles Davis

"Tears in Heaven" Eric Clapton

"November Rain" Guns and Roses"

"Baby Got Back" Sir Mix A Lot

Vangelis - Conquest of Paradise

Michael Jackson - Heal the world

Under the Bridge - Red Hot Chilli Peppers

And my bigger sisters music I'm affraid:

Ace of Base - All that she wants

Wish this song was from 1992 but just looked it up and it's 3 years later. Has to be in this list anyways if that's oké!

Nakatomi - Children of the night

Best tracks for me in 1992 in no particular order would have been,

KLF - What Time Is Love

SL2 - On A Ragga Tip

The Shamen - Ebenezer Goode

The Prodigy - Experience L.P

Plus many more that I no longer remember.

1992 was a damn good year. (I think...)

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

:default_sign0081:

Well, the grunge scene was still going at that time, so I picked up on that.  Kurt Cobain was still alive then, and his death two years later really shocked me at the time.

However, I admit to listening mostly to the same music throughout my life.  That would be "classic" rock (especially progressive) from the 1970s.  I did not like much of the stuff that was being released in the 1980s, and I stuck mostly to my favorites like Yes; Emerson, Lake, and Palmer; Rush; Jethro Tull; Led Zeppelin; and so on.  Granted, some of these bands were still popular in the 1980s, but I always strongly preferred anything from the 1970s in comparison.  I was skeptical of 1990s music at first, but once the grunge and alternative scenes kicked in, I added a bit more variety to my music selection.

I also listened to a bit of country music back then, but usually preferred rock as a whole.

Dr. Dre - The Chronic.  Great album to cruise around Los Santos in your Manana.

If you are not jamming East Los FM in your Manana I am going to sticky bomb you just out of principle!  :)

I don't remember the songs but I do remember the artists, I didn't even know that rap/ hip hop was a existing genre, was mainly R&B, Dance Hall, Reggae, Ska, Roots, Pop, Country & Opera. Papa san      -       Round table talk

Super Cat    -  Don Dada

Shaba Ranks

Lovin Dear      -       What police can do

Madonna          ( the hell if I know, pops would play cassette's when we were going on long trips to the country)

Michael Jackson      -      Black or White

Selena     -       Dreaming of you & I could fall in love

Celine Dion    -    Water from the moon   (basically any of her songs would be playing you could not escape it)

Whitney Houston   -     Greatest love of all

Boys ii Men           -             its so hard to say good bye

Luther Vandross

Kris Kross       -      Jump                had all the kids hopping around

George Michael

Johny Cash

En Vogue     -        Never gonna get it

Vanilla Ice     -       Ice Ice baby                        never got why people started hating him after a while

I'd like to say something like The Chronic or Redman's Whut? Thee Album, but since I'm completely ignoring the "older members only" part, it was more like this.:D

And that was my first glimpse into the magical world of yodeling.
