Top 10 Albums

Recommended Posts

Something DC said last night about his top ten in another music thread got me thinking about what mine would be and i thought it could be a cool thing to share and see what everyone's top 10 albums are (or just your favourite if you can't think of 10) :)

In no particular order (Probably Forgotten many albums but nvm)

The Black Crowes - Before the frost...until the freeze

Jeff Buckley - Grace

Bruce Springsteen - Darkness on the Edge of Town

Counting Crows - Saturday Nights and Sunday Mornings

Radiohead - In Rainbows

Pearl Jam - Pearl Jam

Rush - Moving Pictures

Stevie Ray Vaughan - In Step

Thin Lizzy - Black Rose

Arcade Fire - The Suburbs

Here's a link to a playlist of a great track from each album :)

No particular order either for me:

Dookie- Green Day

American Idiot - Green Day

I'm with you - Red Hot Chili Peppers

Three cheers for sweet revenge - MRC

21st Century Breakdown - Green Day.

Nightmare - Avenged Sevenfold

Black Parade - MCR

That's all the albums I can think of. I really like enough songs on some albums to say that I like the albums

1. Hixxy, Sharkey and Dougal - Bonkers 3 - A Journey Into Gold (Gold Edition).
2. Oasis - (What's the Story) Morning Glory.
3. Stereophonics - Word Gets Around.
4. Oasis - Definitely Maybe.
5. Stereophonics - Performance and Cocktails.
6. Hixxy and Sharkey - Bonkers.
7. Sy, Brisk and Kevin Energy - Hardcore Heaven.
8. The Beatles - In Mono - SHM-CD (not sealed, had to have it opened and checked over by a collector to ensure it wasn't one of those common eBay fakes).
9. Oasis - Be Here Now.
10. Hardcore Til I Die 2.

Some of them are pretty old and some of them are quite rare if in mint condition.

1. On the list is a collectible gold edition which was released to celebrate selling 100K copies (unheard of within that genre). Of course I have the standard release which is played.

Yeah, my taste in music goes from one extreme to the next, I know this :D I listen to a wide range of shit, but I have over 5K single hardcore tunes for DJ'ing which obviously get a lot more play time than any album does.

I'll avoid making a playlist :)

For me, it's very hard to put a top 10 down. I have been known as a "New Age Hippie" Since my teen years, and listen to every genre of music. I will list the top ten albums that I can listen to EVERY track, and have done so on many many occasions.

Black Stone Cherry - Between the Devil and the Deep Blue Sea

Godsmack              - Godsmack

Metallica                 - Untitled (Known as Black Album)

Complex                 - Prime Cuts: 4 the Hungry / From the Hungry (From the studio I worked for, not main stream)

Complex                 - Prime Cuts 2: Still Starvin' (From the Studio I worked for, not main stream)

Eminem                  - Recovery

Nirvana                   - Nirvana

Chingy                    - Jackpot

E-40                       - My Ghetto Report Card

ICP                         - The Amazing Jackal Brothers

(Order is from longest band/artist name to shortest :P)

Here that's neat, it's always best to have a varied taste, even myself i'm partial to a bit of 90's speed garage haha

Restricting myself to one per artist to make it easier, order is sort of favourite first, but it probably depends on what mood I'm in.

  1. A Night at the Opera - Queen
  2. A Different Class - Pulp
  3. The Resistance - Muse
  4. Bat out of Hell - Meatloaf
  5. Universal Mother - Sinead O'Connor
  6. Money for Nothing - Dire Straits
  7. Nevermind - Nirvana
  8. Metallica (Black Album) - Metallica
  9. American Idiot - Green Day
  10. Fleshwounds - Skin

Shoutout to banks for recognizing real rap! Game recognize game lol

Also fido you and I have very similar musical taste!

As a lover of music and sometimes artist lol I've listened to so much music and it would be to difficult for me to come up with a list that wouldn't change or evolve as time went on. However these are the 10 albums that come to mind right this instant:

Bob Marley- Soul Rebel

IQ- Subterranea

Depeche mode-Black Celebration

Raekwon- only built for Cuban linx

Daft Punk- discovery

Ice cube- the predator

A tribe called quest- the love movement/lower end theory

sade- love deluxe

Tool-aenima

... That's the list although I already feel bad for leaving out so many other albums lol

I stood in line for Tickets to see them live, for 2 hours. Not too bad. They were playing at the Rockford Speedway, surprisingly located in Machesney Park, Not Rockford lol. The only bad thing about this, is it was 90+ degrees outside, with no shade. I ended up giving my tickets away to a friend. :(

3 of your top ten were on my original list of 15, but got knocked out when I lowered it to 10. Linkin Park is awesome, HATED them live though, and thats why I bumped them. RHCP - Californication, and System - Toxicity. Love all three of those albums!

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Fantômas - Delirium Cordia

Tool - Undertow

Alice In Chains - Facelift

Battle Tapes - Polygon

Beastie Boys - Check Your Head

Deftones - White Pony

The Dillinger Escape Plan - Option Paralysis

Meshuggah - Nothing

Mr. Bungle - California

Pantera - Far Beyond Driven

I could easily add many more to this. It's so hard to narrow it down. But Delirium Cordia is, hands down, my favorite.

Have you seen the Los Angeles episode of Foo Fighters of Sonic Highways? They go into the history of Kyuss and the whole desert scene.

It's also a really good episode in general for all of us playing GTA V because it shows so many real life locations that are in the game.

Nope. Wasn't aware of that documentary. Just saw some highlights from it and will most definitely look up the full episode! Kyuss is by far one of my all time favourite bands.  Have seen them live over here on quite a few occasions and every time they were just phenomenal. They really (quite literally) blow you away :) But I guess that's nothing compared to how they used to play over there in their early days. Must have been so awesome.

Cheers for the tip, Beez. Much appreciated !
