Non gaming hobbies and pastimes

SO what do you do for fun when not playing video games?

For me. at one time I was a paintball player, semi pro in fact in early 2000's, but a severe knee injury off field took me out of the game. I have pics I will edit in stored in the computer at work.

Now I fly RC airplanes and currently working on one with an 8 foot wingspan that will look like the Sprunk version of the GTA Mallard when done. In reality it is an Extra 330 3D stunt plane.

This pic is of my B-17

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

I mountain bike and sometimes play the odd game of 5-a-side football. When I was younger I was a skateboarder and bmx'er.

(Used to have a few r.c.cars but never dared buy a plane)

Wow Hatched those planes are big man, I bet they take some skill to fly, I have an RC nitro truggy which hardly see's the light of day since repairing it.

In my spare time I'm an up and coming UK Hardcore music producer, DJ and raver, it's what I love and what I live for.

To most that would mean sitting in front of a computer making noises for hours on end and standing on a stage making noises while some happy people dance around.

You wouldn't be far wrong, Although GTA has meant many unfinished projects lol

So, yeah that's pretty much it.

I also mountain bike but haven't for a while due to the shit weather round these parts. For about five years I also used to film and edit mountain bike videos but got fed up of standing around on rainy mountains on weekends.

I'm going to buy a capture card when I get some cash so I'll be able to make crew edits.

It's not a good video (cell phone) but this is the B17 in the first pic on it's maiden flight. At the end you will see me landing it with only one gear down. That plane is a bit over 6 feet in wing span and all electric.

Wow, to be able to have full control while being a considerable distance away and then land with 1 gear down clearly takes skill and experience.

Makes a great sound for an electric plane too.

Do you build them yourself or buy from a specialist store?

Both, that particular plane is all foam (expensive beer cooler), I have a few built from scratch, some with major assembly and some ready to fly.

That was the first plane with retractable landing gear I had, and the first time with one not coming down. I got lucky I didn't tear the wing off.

Before PS3/PS4 became a part of my daily life - I was into my lil' home recording studio. Nice, simple, tiny lil' set. I write my own lyrics, harmonies, and vocals onto free beats I would download off of YouTube from random beat makers. That was my sanctuary. My zone of expressing feelings and emotions and thoughts .. just pouring myself out onto melodies either to soothe my own broken heart or venting. It was not made for popularity or attention, but just a hobby on the side. I invested time and energy and effort into it as I do with gaming now. At this time, I'm no longer doing it since I have not been able to replace it due to financial difficulties. Back in 2014, 3 days before X-mas, my apartment got broken into while I was at work and they stole both my PS3 and PS4, all the gaming accessories and games that came with it, along with my recording studio and equipment. I WAS LIVID. Even now, when I think about it, I get upset all over again. Since then, I still sing/rap along to sings here and there, but it hasn't been the same. I'm working on saving up in hopes that I can replace it all and do what I was passion about. :D

Damn sorry to hear about the theft May. That sucks. Hope you can replace your recording gear someday soon. Maybe you could write a song about the crew? :D If you look at the XDBX YouTube channel there is a video with an original song made by a former member. I'll see if I can find it.

Found it!

My main hobby is motorcycles. I've ridden all brands and styles and each has their positives but my favorite is adventure bikes and dualsport bikes both of which are great for exploring.

Other things I enjoy are disc golf, my R/C tug boat, R/C cars, watching TV and brewing beer on occasion. I used to ride mountain bikes too and would like to get back into that too.
