I would like to do this but am not too sure on how to get started. Google does not seem to be my friend with this topic as I am finding too much conflicting information. JustHatched 12,103 Posted September 8, 2016 Share Posted September 8, 2016 Don't know to much about it, but I would say a start would be to contact the state government cuz you would probably have to register as a business and then apply for non profit/tax exempt status, you would probably need a board of directors of sorts since it would be a non profit organization. Beyond that getting stuff set up at a bank, and a way of communicating to the public who you are, what you stand for, and the goal.
