PS4 Auto Testing - Friday 12th April 2019

Date & Time : Friday 12th April 2019 - 2000 (BST) / 1900 (UTC)

 

Limited to 16 places maximum, although if we had 16 players I will drop out to just do some recording and photographs etc.

The night will comprise of 4 tests, one demo so everyone understands the format and then 3 timed which will be competitive. 

 

Each test will run as follows:

• One "sighting lap" so everyone knows the layout and route they are taking (at the end of this DO NOT CROSS THE FINISH LINE).
• One fast lap which should comprise your fastest lap of the race and will be your time for the test.
• One final lap, which is just a free for all until everyone finishes.

The winner of the night will be the person with the lowest total time for the 3 tests. 

The vehicles for the tests will be as follows:

Test 1 : Issi Classic

Test 2 : Retinue

Test 3 : Futo

Ideally, it would be great if everyone had the cars already but if you are short of cash don't worry, we will run in GTA mode and be able to spawn cars in if necessary. 

 

Signups will be available only on RSC until the 30th March then available on GTAF as well so that I can give priority to RSC members.

I've added the event to GTAF as well as we have previously had a few people along from there who haven't joined here yet.

As it's early stages with getting events off the ground again I shall run these events no matter what as long as it's not just me on my own while we're getting established.

Ended up a little bit delayed with the glitch on the first track thanks to whatever R* issues caused the checkpoints to get messed up.

Calling on the fire station job from the PS3 era was OK, but proved a bit problematic for most. For its time the job is OK, but would probably benefit from a refresh to make the route clearer using secondary and all the tools we have now that I didn't when creating the original job.

I'll get results and some pictures up in the morning I hope.

However, I am working on Sunday so I might end up just doing results tomorrow and then sorting videos and pics anon.

It's a shame the first job let us down with the glitching Start/Finish CP, unfortunately this lead to a lot of hanging around when the Fire Station job was bought in last minute.

Maybe we could look at making the layouts so players have a shorter waiting time between runs.

I'll get one of my runs uploaded asap.

Working on pictures and such like at the moment.

I'll post results when the pictures are all sorted, been a while since I was doing a lot with GTA Editor so my photo and video skills aren't quite what they used to be at the moment.

I have been spoiled by Scapes on GT Sport!

There is a strong possibility it will be either late tomorrow or at some point on Monday as I am working tomorrow and not sure what time I will get home.

GTA Race Club Autotesting Results

Test 1: The Docks - Weeny Issi Classic

The 1st test turned into a bit of a disaster overall due to R* related issues glitching the finish checkpoints so that we ended up with no times.

This was fortunate for some, as it killed off some poor first runs such as Aslad messing up the first manoeuvre and then managing to get stuck on the ramp and requiring assistance to be pushed off as he was stuck with the driven wheels hanging in the air.

Another to suffer was Trashbags who managed to hit a barrier on the first corner producing an impressive but ultimately time-consuming roll.

 

Test 2: Zancudo - Vapid Retinue

Test 2 ran a lot more smoothly, Verstappen taking the test win, leading from myself and BKMoto with Chubb closely behind in 4th.

Test 3: Sandy Shores - Karin Futo

Another test win for Verstappen with BKMoto taking 2nd place and Chubb in 4th spot again.

The test adjusted the top 3 with BK moving into 2nd spot, dropping me into 3rd.

Test 4: Fire Station - Pfister Comet

Verstappen again took the test win while some drivers had serious issues with a mixture of accidents, huge detours and general chaos ensuing as an old PS3 job was dragged out of retirement to stand in for the earlier checkpoint issues on test 1. (Yes I am aware of SkyeDave showing up out of order).

BKMotos detour meant Chubb jumped one spot into 3rd overall while Trashbags insistence on hitting almost every available piece of scenery on the last test saw him drop to last spot in the standing.

Ok, so I wan't the fastest but damn my Retinue and Issi Classic look good in the photos.  Great night G, even if I did crack under the pressure whenever my turn came around.  Thanks for putting it all together and especially for helping navigate when I got lost in the Comet......
