JustHatched's Ramblings - Inspirational Rock and Roll #1

Recommended Posts

Being my first go at this, I would like everyone to know I love all types of music, from Mozart to Metallica and everything in between. Hard Rock is by far my favorite though. And most who do not care for this type of music are really not opening their minds to it IMO. For several reasons, some of the most rediculous being that it is satanic music to the more likely one which is they can't understand the singer. Others say it's all screaming and nothing else.

My goal with a series of blogs is to squash some misbelief about this type of music by choosing songs that I think have an inspirational message, or have a personal meaning to me. Most will be from the '80's to present date.

I am going to choose Alice Cooper's "Hey Stoopid" as the first song, this particular song has a personal effect on me and I use to listen to it often when I was at the lowest points n my life, back then I listened to alot of things. These days it serves as a reminder to me that things can be and have been much worse and that no matter what you should pick yourself up from life's issues. Like Rocky said "It's not how hard you can hit, but how hard you can get hit and get back up".

First the lyrics in written from and the Youtube video of the song, the video is very 80's.

"Hey Stoopid"

[Alice Cooper/Jack Ponti/Vic Pepe/Bob Pfeifer]

Hey bro, take it slow

You ain't livin' in a video

You're flying low with a high velocity

No doubt, you're stressin' out

That ain't what rock n' roll's about

Get off that one way trip down lonely street

Now I know you've been kicked around

You ain't alone in this ugly town

You stick a needle in your arm

You bite the dust, you buy the farm

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey stoopid

What ya tryin' to do

Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey stoopid

They win you lose

Hey, hye, hey, hey, hey stoopid

C'mon girl, it's a better day

Get your foot out of that grave

Don't let that one love tear your world apart

C'mon babe, kick that stuff

Show the street it ain't so tough

Quit lyin' around with a crippled, broken heart

Now I know you've been seeing red

Don't put a pistol to your head

sometimes your answer's heaven sent

Your way is so damn permanent

This ain't your daddy talkin'

You know, I know

Your story ain't so shocking

You know, I know

Blow some steam

C'mon and scream
