With the news that GTA will be ‘enhanced and expanded’ and then released on PS5 I was wondering what people’s thoughts were on this. From a crew and RSCnet perspective I think it’s great news... It will give boost to a game some of us are tiring of and hopefully bring in some new players while we wait for GTA6 (which may not launch with online capabilities). Personally I don’t think it will have impacted GTA6’s timeline either, though I’m sure many will disagree. GTA Online will be a stand alone game available at launch for PS5, free for 3 months. What do people think the price will be after this (maybe free for returning players)? Every PS+ member will get $1 million a month for just signing in. I swear I have read that the game will be free for returning PS4 players when it is released in 2021, but I cannot find the source where I read this, can anyone else confirm if this is true or not? Enhanced and Expanded? Any ideas what this will mean and will it extend to online too? If the game is enhanced and expanded online, will there be cross-platform and cross generation play?

We would like to send out a invitation. Each Sunday at 20:00 UTC will determine the RSC Champion for a specific class/tier, we use in game scores. It is obvious just for fun, and you will likely race a different car in each race. Slipstream and catch-up might be used, depending the track and the host's preference. Preparing Each week we will race a specific class + tier. Each week you will pick and bring one of the listed cars. You will bring that specific car to every race. You will be the only one who brings that specific car.* When you sign up (in this thread) you will claim what car you will bring. If you have a car on the list that you expect few other people to have, please bring it! If you can not bring one of the listed ”Custom” cars, you may bring one of the ”Stock” cars (by simply selecting it before the race starts). But this car does also need to be claimed once you sign up. If you join last minute you will be asked to bring one of the custom cars that has not yet been ”taken”, or one of the ”Stock” vehicles not yet taken. *If you have no other option, you may bring a car already brought by someone else. You will prepare and have the car fully customized (all performance and amour upgrade). Except the stock ones obviously. Raceday You will select the same car in every race. But you will only race your car in the first race. At the start of following races we will park the cars to the side (GTA Mode). For the next races you will pick one of the other cars. The driver who finished last in the previous race will start to grab a car and line up at the front of the grid, followed by the one who finished second to last, and so on. So the winner of the previous race will get whatever car is left and start at the end. You may only race the same car once (as long as its possible due to other players picks). Once we all have a car and are parked on the grid we will go on a given time. You may not pass anyone until after the first corner/bottleneck, simply to ease things as we race contact. Must have slip stream and catchup on. The creator doesn't seem to know how to handle these. It lets you place air checkpoints, which is good since these things fly. But then it won't let you test the job because it thinks they are land vehicles and therefore all the air CPs are invalid!

Everybody will race in the regular Felon (fully upgraded). Pole is decided by 1 question before the start of every race. The one who answers it correctly gets pole position. Questions are random questions about everything (could be about animals, geography, history, science etc. etc.) There will be a total of 8 races, 7 in the Felon and the last race will be a mystery race. We will all gather in my nightclub before the event. After meeting in the nightclub we will start a 'find my car'. The searchers can only use normal cars (no mk2, deluxo etc.) I will hide my own felon somewhere in the city and I will give away some clues slowly (just like Mystery Car). The one who finds my car will always start 3rd on the grid on every race except the mystery race or if he gets the question right. Top 3 of every race will start at the back on the next race. As longest serving current member of the society of VANS, I thought I had better pull my finger out from up my bottom, and actually try and host something for the first time since PS3. As you all know, I'm a skinflint, a tight a*se, a penny pinching bellend! So when I saw that the Raptor was free last week in GTA, and that I was, at the time, playing through Everybody's Gone to The Rapture, an idea was born inside my tiny little mind. We will have a playlist of 8 races to crown king of the Raptors. There will also be 1 stupid daft race at the end just for the lols. At the start of each race, one driver will have the chance to earn themselves a 15 second head start by answering a delightfully evil trivia question from the very depths of CatMan's mind (and also google). The Van Society was founded on May 9 2014 and started off as a small crew of PS3 GTAO players by Retired-Mafia. We are now a well established crew focused on the PS4 for mature gamers who like to approach GTAO from a different angle to most too get the most of the game. On Wednesday 10th June 2020 at 20:00 BST we will be holding a night of Top Gear challenges. All the jobs on the night will be based around an episode from the 'good old days' and will mix racing with a few other types of job. Hello everyone. Well, I don't have much to say about this yet. Just reserving the space for later. To let you all know, I plan on trying to map GTA6 like I did all the way back in 2011 for GTA V. I plan on doing that to the best of my ability without going into speculation in order to have a map as faithful as possible to the real thing. Research will be based on trailers end screenshots only, with a touch of real life geographic knowledge from the city area this will be based on. For those we don't know, I and a few others (notably our own @no_snacks) worked a lot on this project on GTAForums back then and the thread got hugely popular. We were a small core of member handling it all and keeping it on rails. For this there are two planes to capture, both Vestras, located at each team's start point, Fort Zancudo or Sandy Shores. Hold your Vestra to score points. Everyone starts in a Molatok, they should just have machine guns. Protect your teams bomber or attack the enemies. You respawn at your team's start location. Two versions at the moment. v1 you start and respawn in Molatoks. You don't have a parachute to start with. So one team mate gets out of their Molatok and into the Besra. Respawns at various places around the map. v2 - THIS IS MY PREFERED OPTION IF IT WORKS. You start and respawn on foot at your base. Get into the Vestra or one of the Molatoks nearby. All planes repsawn. Grenades provide incase one gets stuck and needs destroying.

The Real Life Tracks night is back after a long break for part IV on Wednesday 18th September at 19:00 UTC (20:00 BST) on PS4! The Van Society are hosting another night of racing using the best GTA Real Life Tracks from FR_Player-One's Real Life Tracks thread and the best from elsewhere on Social Club. We will have a few new creations to add to the Playlist this time around due to the time since the last event. This event will be open to all RSCnet members so sign up and get involved. Meet up and Qualifying We will start with a quick meet up in Los Santos in our cars before the racing begins. The first race of the night will be 'qualifying' on the Top Gear Test Track, this will be run non-contact with drivers vying for the best lap time to get pole and decide grid positions in future races. From here a playlist with contact races of the best Real Life Tracks will be launched. At the start of every race we will re-arrange the grid based on qualifying. Players will also be put into groups of 4, these groups/classes will be based on speed around the Top Gear track and vehicle choice. Please familiarise yourself with this track, your qualifying time here will be crucial on matching your ability and choice of car with drivers of a similar skill level. We expect clean racing on the night (this is not a 'GTA Race' free for all) we all appreciate the tracks created and want to race around them, not play bumper cars. If you like to spin people out, try and squeeze two cars into a corner that can only fit one or use other cars as braking barriers or like to exact 'revenge moves' then do not sign up. Curb Boosting Curb boosting is also a big no no. Hitting the curbs/rumble str*p on the racing line (entry/apex/exit of corners) is fine however weaving on the the rumble str*p, surfing the rumble str*p on straights and ignoring the racing line to hit a curb are things we do not want to see, warnings will be handed out for this. See the diagram in the spoiler below for an example. Basic Racing Rules The first corner is crucial, do not attempt crazy overtakes here, just get round it safely. If you are responsible for spinning out another player, wait for them to recover before continuing to race. Do not PIT other racers. Do not ram other racers. Do not dive bomb other racers. Do not bob and weave on straights. No curb boosting unless part of the natural racing line. Failure to adhere to the rules will result in a warning followed by being kicked for repeat offending. Your Car We will run all races in Sports Class and you will race the same car in each race (each player must pick a different car). This will give different racers advantages on some tracks and disadvantages on others. It will also make it a whole lot easier to remember who is who as the night goes on. All cars can be fully modded (no off-road tyres though) and we have banned the most OP cars from the class to even the playing field slightly. Do not be afraid to pick a slower 'personal favourite' car as we will split the racers into groups depending on speed and you will be competing against players of a similar speed in your group as well as the rest of the field. The Pariah, Itali GTO, Neo, Comet SR, Issi Sport and Paragon are all banned. The Locust & Jugular are under review. This leaves the following cars up for grabs...
