That will most likely take some time because it is new tech and quickly sold out everywhere. I'm happy with it though, hit a high of 149 FPS in Red Dead redemption 2. Averages around 110. 1440P because I don't have a 4k monitor, yet. It also works because it gives me a card for another project. Picked up my sons birthday presents while we there as well. I made the same mistake with his first PC as mine and bought a terrible one from DELL. Will be taking out his i7-10700 and putting it in a proper case with much better components. Will also put the 2070S I just took out of mine in it. All he wants is more fans because the things run so hot. He should be happy when he finds out he is getting much more. Sinister 2,578 Posted December 23, 2021 Share Posted December 23, 2021 (edited) Since it will be a long time before I can get my hands on some DDR5 RAM I grabbed a Z690 MB that works with DDR4 so I could pair my i7-12700K with my 3080Ti. Also grabbed another 1TB M2 and ditched the HDD. This PC is an absolute beast now. Have ventured pretty far since buying that POS from DELL 2 years ago. Speaking of POS, I also took care of the 2nd mistake which we got for our son before I knew any better. Pulled the processor from it, i7-10700F. Grabbed the RAM sticks and HDD and tossed rest into the trash. It's all proprietary and not upgradable anyways. Never buy a gaming PC from them, never. Paired it with a new Z490 Board from MSI along with a proper cooler, new RAM, M2 SSD (1TB) and PSU. Swapped out his RTX 2060 for my7 2070 Super. He is happy to have rig that runs cool and has RGB. I'm still on the EVGA waiting list so hopefully my time comes up soon so we can get him a better card. In typical DELL fashion their cards are super cheap blower cards with one fan. Speaking of fans, I have 5 fans in my case and every other case in this house, all 120MM. To show how terrible a DELL Gaming PC is I took a picture of the ONE fan they come with. A lot of those limits are gone with the current gen consoles. They have the hardware to run beautiful games at good FPS. It's the developers that lock frame rates and graphics settings. The ability to set all of that up myself is what I like about PC. GTA at 100+ frames shows just how nice looking the game is and it was originally made for a PS3, can only imagine one made for a PS5. Console wins hands down when it comes to price and ease of use though. Especially today with the screwed up GPU pricing/availability. $500 and all you have to do is hook up a power and HDMI cord and you are playing. if things were normal a PC could be built for a low price and be more capable than any console but most people would rather not mess with it and I can see why. It can get expensive quickly. For someone like me, that always wants the latest and greatest thing, it is VERY expensive. I stay out of the bickering and master race nonsense because I just like to play games. Went to Walmart and the Xbox Series S was the only 1 of 2 consoles there. Got it for $325 to replace the previous gen Xbox One S. Strange enough the old one will cover a decent portion of the cost, as I can sell it for $185 & up on ebay. Usable hard drive space 364Gb External sata hards drive can store and play games while using multiple simultaneously 4.25lb & small size good for travel 3 USB PORTS Proprietary storage slot 3 ways to transfer Games from one console to the next, Ethernet is the fastest but change both console's sleep time to 6hrs or never, or it will shut off during transfer. Impulse control and lack of focus is the next problem being addressed, lol. Also bought a wrecked shop truck from work for cheap.
