LN-MLB 2,583
The new update is here and the patch notes have already been released. [9/15/15] GTAV Title Update 1.29 Notes (PS4/Xbox One/PC) New Content Source: https://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/209297738--9-15-15-GTAV-Title-Update-1-29-No Rockstar Editor has been added for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Freemode Events have been added to GTA Online which unlock after completing the tutorial or are available immediately if the tutorial was skipped. New activities are: Hunt the BeastBecome the Beast – a stronger, faster (and hairier) version of your character - and flee relentless pursuers all over Los Santos and Blaine County. King of the CastleAn every man for himself turf war where you’ll need to ascend and claim the designated ‘castle’ as your territory – and then fend off everyone else as they go all out to dethrone you. Hot PropertyGrab the briefcase and go! Jump into a car, bike, boat, motorcycle, P-996 Lazer or just run for the hills with the coveted contraband in hand. Be one of the three players who hold the briefcase the longest to score GTA$ and RP bonuses. Moving TargetThe first player to enter a marked vehicle will become the Moving Target, tasked with safely delivering the vehicle to a designated location. While the marked vehicles will be durable, it’ll take some serious elusive finesse to survive other players’ attempts to destroy you before the drop point. Checkpoint ChallengeCompete with all your Freemode competitors in a mad dash across southern San Andreas. Who will be the first to race or fly through all the designated checkpoints for fame, fortune and reputation. Kill List and Kill List CompetitiveTake control of some of heavy artillery and duke it out with the mercenaries from Merryweather Security. Rack up GTA$ and RP for each kill. Dead DropFight for possession of valuable contraband and see if you can make the drop first in this ruthless smuggler’s run. Penned InWhen you see the enormous dome appear over the Los Santos skyline, jump into the closest ride and find your way into it before the timer starts. Then, stay within the dome as it begins to move and shrink, smashing and bashing rivals out. Those who are left out of the dome for more than 7 seconds will explode. See if you can be the sole survivor at the very end. Criminal DamageWhet your appetite for destruction with all-you-can-eat buffet. Get strapped with a favorite piece of heavy artillery and let loose over a given time period with no wanted level in sight. Wanton destruction is rewarded with every bullet hole and blast. The player with the largest property damage bill who causes the most destruction will win. Hold the WheelA Sanchez, a Golf Cart or another otherwise humble mode of transport is made into an indestructible marked vehicle. Take command of it and avoid all the other jackers and assailants in your session to be the one behind the driver’s seat when time runs out. Try and go for it solo to keep the entire GTA$ award for yourself, or shrewdly partner up with a gunner to ride with you for protection and split the earnings. Time TrialRecord the fastest time possible, with a new course to master every week that awards you GTA$ and RP for beating our target time or your own personal best - and a championship worthy haul if you can take down the World Record. Freemode ChallengesCompete in 19 unique Challenges against your Freemode friends and foes. See who can perform the longest jump, who can drive the farthest without crashing, who can fall the longest distance without dying, who can freefall the farthest before pulling their ‘chute – and many other ways to risk your neck to try and be a top 3 finisher for GTA$ and RP rewards. New Adversary Mode Jobs have been added to GTA Online which unlock at Rank 12. Hunting PackYou’re part of a team tasked to deliver a priority vehicle rigged to explode if it drops below a minimum speed, while your opponents race, ram and batter to take it down. Cross the LineHeavily-armed squads face off across a neutral zone – with the goal of having all team members strategically penetrate their opponents territory to claim victory. LN-MLB 2,583
One thing I might add that many will appreciate is the changes to the way you can place props in the creator. I didn't take the time to go through everything, but the options as far as stacking, rotating, adjusting them to different angles, overlapping, and so on are quite impressive. This will enable a lot of options, but that comes with a downside--it'll make those obnoxious sky maps and infinite wall-ride maps much easier to make. Still no DLC weapons in the creator though. Sigh...

LN-MLB 2,583
Yeah but they never affect us anyway, it does mean we can be more creative though without the limitations. Can spawn points, weapons and vehicles be stacked on top of props now? Very true. I'm not sure, I only looked at the options for props. I'll check that out later on as well. You can basically set all the options and if you need to use multiple props with the exact same parameters, it will default to those settings with the next prop you want to place. It's actually kind of interesting. I was just playing around, but I managed to insert a wall barrier on its side half-way into the ground. You can also turn on or turn off the ability to allow stacking and so on.

So in theory we could take the striped concrete barrier and angle it in such a way and embed it into the ground so that it can be used as a proper kerb for a GP style race. LN-MLB 2,583
Have you played around with the editor yet LN? Stuck at work til 7 but desperate to try it out! Not yet, I had a look at the tutorial and just opened up the program to see what it was like. I haven't saved any clips that can be used, but basically, you press down on the D-pad whilst in game, and from there you can start recording or use the action replay feature. I'm not quite sure how any of that works just yet, but I'll do some experimenting later on. So in theory we could take the striped concrete barrier and angle it in such a way and embed it into the ground so that it can be as as a proper kerb for a GP style race. It does seem very likely.
Beez 5,091
I am hoping props can be placed more easily on non-level surfaces. LN-MLB 2,583
I wish the free roam events were more frequent. I don't know exactly how much time there is between events, but it seems to be at least fifteen minutes or more. It's not that I'm impatient, but there have been so many things added--it would be nice to give them all a try and I don't like just hanging around in public lobbies with nothing to do for that long. I am glad though that it works for crew lobbies--that makes things much better. I did play and win the "Who Can Drive the Farthest Without Crashing" challenge last night. That was actually quite fun and definitely a challenge given that people were coming after me for some reason. Dodge came in second place (in a Futo), but it was extremely close. One other thing I will say is this: You must check out the Hunting Pack adversary jobs. I ended up playing a couple of them with handcuff_charlie yesterday, and it's pretty close to being just as much fun as RvI. The goal is to stop a specified vehicle from reaching its destination point. One team consists of the vehicle driver and the defenders and the other team is made up of attackers. No weapons are used in this mode--attackers must slow the vehicle down enough to where it goes under the target speed limit. If it goes below that number, it explodes. It's sort of a simple yet actually really fun GTA take on the movie Speed.
Jaggy 2,811
They happen every 10-15 minutes. That's quite frequent. If they went off every 5 minutes, people would get real sick of them. I like the frequency. It gives me time to do other shenanigans between events. Rockstar needs to have that "cool down" period between events because some of them get very intense. King of the Castle and the Hot Package (think that's the name) are crazy with a ton of killing while trying to "take over". People try to take you out to win. I was trolling someone yesterday during that "drive the furthest without crashing" event too. I suck at driving and crash into everything, so it was more fun swerving near someone to trip them up. These random events are fun. I was in the same public lobby from 8pm-10:30pm last night. It started with 27 people and ended with 8... all but one of us was XDBX. No disconnects, only some small lag during some of the more intense battles. I think it was because during one of them, there were about 20 of us in the area killing each other for the package. I'm sure in a smaller lobby, the lag won't be as bad. While playing with crew, there was no lag at all and there were about 10-12 of us off and on before my playlist. Rockstar did a good job with this update. I never spend that much time in public lobbies. I think it's just been my luck, but the lobbies are more peaceful right now while everyone waits for the next event to start. Yeah, there's some killing here and there, but it's not ridiculous. There are so many more events Rockstar can add in the future. I seriously got addicted to playing these last night and I could have easily said, "Just one more..." and ended up awake well past midnight. FragTrap666 104
Where's the patch that breaks the game ? Oh wait. Freemode Events are a joke. This game runs like ass in public lobbys and they add more crap ? Tried the Time Trial from Del Pierro Pier to the Reservoir; waste of time (both). Completely undrivable with traffic and 29 other players. Slideshow city ! Before someone says " your internet sucks "; it doesn't. I don't live in the sticks. I'm guessing these events also happen in private lobbys ? If they don't, then tough shite R*. Anyone expecting mission based DLCs or new heists can forget it. The heists were too much of a pain in the ass for them and they're simply not interested in an expansion. We can still expect RDR 2 in 2016. truelife98 1,143
Did a king of the castle yesterday and hated it. Seems to me whoever gets there first is at a huge advantage and can rack up points uutil others arrive to kill them. It also annoyed me that people showed up then hung back sniping just racking up kills and not even attempting to capture the objective. And then lastly guys started going passive to get up on top of the building then turning it off when up there. It all annoyed me will have to see how other times go. Protocawl 2,971
I read these patch notes just now and I recognised most of them... If they would've just patched these shitty bugs and added those freemode events to last gen and not added one of the IGG updates, the game would've been so much more playable on PS3. Instead, we still have those frustrating connection issues that they mentioned and all those creator problems and little to do in freemode. I would've really rather taken these fixes instead of the new vehicles and clothing.
Beez 5,091
We can still expect RDR 2 in 2016. If so we should hear something soon. They usually have a year long marketing campaign.
