If you had to start over.

If you had to start over from scratch, what would you do and how would you reason?

My first prio would be to get a Kosatka in order to do get to the Cayo Perico heists.

I would make sure to be able to be a CEO, for the heist and buzzard.

The CEO garage is expandable and would be my only garage initially.

Once money start to come in I would fill up on the needed cars to race.

I would probably go for Emerus, Issi Sport, Cheetah classic, retinue mk2, Yosemite, Trophy truck and the Club, then steal the rest from the streets. Then move on to get the GTO and whatever else might be needed. Use the free cars and any discount.

If reaching the ability to be a CEO and getting a Kosatka in reasonable time would require a shark card i would likely pay up.

I would ignore the other properties and businesses and keep a slim garage for racing.

I'd probably try harder in school in order to have a better paying job so I'm not living week-to-week wondering how I'm gonna pay the bills.

1. MC clubhouse + bare Kosatka in order to be able to do the heist. Would probably involve a bit of mission grind to get to $2.5M needed. MC because it's way cheaper than an office.

2. Cheap 10 car garage as a spawn point and initial car storage.

3. Sparrow

4. Start grinding the heist

5. Top of the class cars. Sport (Pariah), Super (Emerus), Muscle, Sport Classic (Turismo), Compact (Club), Sedan (V12), Coupe (Zion), SUV (Rebla), Off-road (Trophy tr.), Motorcycle (Shotaro), Van (Gang Burrito)

6. Another cheap garage and other needed cars, rally (sport, sp.classic), Hotring, Armoured Kuruma.

7. At this point I have everything I actually need and can go in several directions.

a) Nightclub, Terrorbyte, Opressor MkII, basic MC businesses in order to have nightclub gathering money and make preps easier.

b) more garage space, grinding Cayo Perico and start collecting cars

c) CEO office and other businesses/facilities to expand options for playing other heists (for fun), buy Phantom wedge, Buzzard.

8. Done.

I'm actually planning doing something similar with my second character, but with a $2.5M loan from my first character to avoid initial grind to buy Kosatka & MC Clubhouse. She already has a 6 car appartment (no need for step 2) and I'll initially skip steps 5&6 (cars). Basically gonna be my Cayo Perico character with a working Nightclub for some extra money. Just buy her the toys for easier/faster prep missions. Then I'll decide what cars is she going to start collecting (probably some obscure cheap stuff), once 1st character fills all garage spots.

Go back in time and start again from when they started handing out 1 million $ a month just for logging in.

But more seriously. Getting to do Cayo Perio would be the priority but you're going to need about 2.5 million to start aren't you? So how to get that money?

Steal and sell a high value car every log in and just before log out (if enough time has passed)

When races are on bonus do those, customs off. Set the laps to ensure max payout (just over 8 minutes). Even if it was difficult getting others to join do them solo, still reasonable payout for not much effort.

Once you can start doing daily objectives.

Not too sure what next.

I don’t know, but having someone high level with you is probably the easiest way to do it, so I would say: join an active grinding crew and it will be easy to make all the money you need in just a couple of days. When I need to grind, I join one of those crews and I can easily do up to 8M in a few hours of gameplay. This is an online game, we are not supposed to be playing it solo... 😂

@Lann I am actually restarting on the Xbox One S but with the GTA PE Criminal Enterprise Starter Pack worth $10M, so its not a true start over compared to the Standard Edition. I am utilizing a free garages & 4 cars only so far. This DLC prompt me to update my tried and tested training day post that should have all you need as beginner.

When I Started over previously on the PS4 the 4 things I needed most was to build up my stats, money, tools to help me get stats, money & rank. If you play with randoms you will get kicked often with a low ranking.

Generous friends can be your biggest uplift out of poverty lol, the game has a credit card dept thing on the apartment pc I had never known about until my apartment lights cut off once. LOL

I did start over some years ago, it was actually fun to have goals in the game again, but the PvP was a big disadvantage.

Although I own the businesses and heist boards, I don't use them much, I probably get most of my cash from PL's and stuff.

100 times this!

But in GTA I wouldn't, if for what ever reason my character got reset, I'd walk away gracefully until the next installment

Are you sure?

Well to elaborate, I'd probably be discouraged by the task and thinking about the huge amounts of money I would need to grind to buy the garages, CEO offices, Kosatka and vehicles that I'd want.

So I'll probably be playing other games at first, discovering new stories and hopefully by then maybe GTA6 and a new Online would be close and then I would be happy to start all over.

But most likely, after a while I would want to jump back in to keep in touch with my crewmates and have fun during SRL and playing Issi Football lol

If I had to legit (on a console) start all over, I wouldn't do it. Too much time and effort put into the game to want to start all over.

On PC however, starting over would be simple. Start new character and perform a recovery to be back where I was.

Its a fresh start to get rid of all the stuff that clogs up your inventory, that cannot be sold or deleted that you never use anymore but cost you money like properties and employees tied to them along with special vehicles. I did a breakdown years ago & realize I was paying over a $100K per actual month on utilities so its probably tripple that now or more.

I took a hard look at all the properties & actual vehicles I wanted with the average vehicle $276K upgrade cost & estimated that I really needed $90M to be back in my comfort zone, & the rest of work would be rank & character stats.

Took 2 weeks to get to LVL 96 (from LVL 60+ was a push for me personally), for the 1st 5 days I used a vpn to make $10M through Insider Track that was a careful non lost grind but mundane.

I was back to normal in about 2-3 months doing it solo, its all in my 'GTA V Training Day OCD Beginners Guide.' If you have someone to do the special Bogdan Heist method with daily its going to be a lot easier when it comes to making money money but Cayo Perico is the the best fully legit way right now.

Starting over would be pretty easy for a legit player today. The Cayo heist is basically an ATM. People are making insane amounts of money.

Btw, you don't need to be MC or CEO to run the Cayo Perico heist, so no need for either a Clubhouse or an Office when starting over, you can just register as a VIP through SecuroServ in the interaction menu, then you can access the heist planning screen.

You do need an extra $150 on top of $2.2M to buy the Kosatka though, an entry fee to Music Locker to meet Mini Madrazo and unlock Kosatka/Heist.

But one would like either the Sparrow or CEO buzzard for the preps right.

Absolutely, but you can buy the Sparrow with the first heist money. I made $2.25M in the first heist (2nd character) with all the bonuses (first finale, undetected, ... $700.000 total).

Though doing preps without a helicopter was quite an annoying hassle. Even with Kosatka beached, I still had to swim to get in and use a car to get around.

There was an additional task during the Safe code mission, since my 2nd character obviously doesn't own a Penthouse. I had to go down to the garage, find Tom Connors's car and get his spare key from the trunk to be able to accesy Penthouse floor. He drives a Pigalle apparently. 😁

  • 3 weeks later...

No way I would start over, I'm way past burned out on the GTA grind. I'm not even certain I will play it on PS5 though I will likely at least check it out. I did play the other day for a couple hours in @pete_95973and @omarcomin71 playlist and while fun I could never do the grind for cash thing again.

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realise it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

If I had to restart all over from scratch, as soon as i hit at least 500 cash get the casino subscription so you get the free wheelspin and 1k per day. rinse the most out of the triple cash weekly events, simeon exports of the infernus, carbonizzare or super diamond daily, los santos customs sell either sentinel or felon gt for 9.5k every 48 minutes, get a decent 6 car garage or 10 car or any decently affordable stilt house apartments dependant on discounts offered and aim for the nightclub and kosatka with sonar to gain 10k + every 48 minutes and potentially 75k per day. as you can tell i'm kind of a grinder hence atm doing solo races at thrills in the hills for roughly 6 laps, 25k payout per go making roughly 100k per hour

I actually started over, not too long ago, kind off.

My girlfriends oldest bought GTA a year ago but lost interest after a few weeks, so I played on his account for some time.

Since he had the criminal starter pack, but waisted his money on useless stuff, I started to do the collectables, until I earned enough money to buy the Kosatka. After running some heists, it’s easy to get to 10m with all the bonuses involved.

I upgraded his bunker for a steady income, bought the Sparrow (who needs a Buzzard these days?) and resumed grinding CP.

Anyway, long story short: It’s pretty easy these days to start from scratch and earn some big money real quick, just by running the Cayo Perico heists.

With the current knowledge and skill it’s easy to earn over 10m in a few days and upgrade all the necessary businesses (atm I only run the bunker and nightclub) on top of that.

I had the "honor" of restarting on GTA just about a month ago. I don't think you can get the game without the Criminal Starter pack anymore. First thing I did was get all the free stuff (office, cars, houses). I started with that and some extra Prime dollars. Bought the Kosatka, barely had enough to get it. After that its just grind the Cayo Perico heist for money and use / waste it again on (mostly) cars. I haven't bothered with any of the businesses at all. I didn't even set up the bunker. I have done those sales so many times I'm just not up for it anymore. It's way easier and quicker to just do a CP heist imo.

My general rule for GTA is just to buy stuff when it's on sale. If its not usefull or you don't like it, just don't buy it. There is too much in the game to spend money on that you never use. You can waste your money when you have a lot anyway but certainly not at the start.

Leveling up to 50 goes pretty quickly but it gets harder and harder. So race wins for car upgrades is the way to go. I'm going to try that the next few weeks and let you know how it goes.
