With both games playing home to more players than ever before in recent months, we know the community has been awaiting news of any updates for GTA Online and Red Dead Online and we are happy to share that both games will receive exciting new updates in the weeks ahead.

For Red Dead Online, players can expect a massive new update to arrive Tuesday, July 28th featuring a new Frontier Pursuit that will introduce players to the secrets of naturalism as part of an all-new Role, plus a new Outlaw Pass, tons of community-requested features and fixes, and much more to play and discover in the months to come.

A summer update to GTA Online is also on the way, offering up a fun mix of diverse new content from the game’s massive array of experiences to enjoy.

Later this year players can expect more big updates for both games, including some exciting new extensions and augmentations to an existing role in Red Dead Online, and the biggest ever update for GTA Online, featuring our latest take on Heists in an entirely new location.

Community Feedback

Thanks to your submissions via our official feedback channels, we have added a number of highly requested features across recent updates – including musical instruments in Red Dead Online, the ability to run all businesses via the Master Control Terminal in GTA Online and more. More of your suggestions will find their way into our games in the next few weeks, so please keep the feedback coming by sending us your thoughts via the GTA Online and Red Dead Online feedback pages.

We are also committed to ensuring that our games are fun for everyone and as safe as possible from modders, cheaters, hackers and those who seek to harass other players. So far this year, we have taken action on hundreds of thousands of players caught violating community rules across both games. Maybe its going back for a heist at the spot in NY where the story mode started. I doubt a new interior would be ”the biggest update ever”, but who knows 🙂

If ”biggest update”, ”new location” and ”heist” are to be connected within the current map, what could that be?

Making use of the inside of the mountains, like some Area 51? We have alien stuff in game.

Mansions, con your way to/take over one of the bigger estates like the Marlowe Vineyards or La Fuente Blanca, both connected to Avery Duggan.

Water/naval as suggested before, make use of the big areas of water/under water. But it feels too limited to be on its own, what could be the connection to ”biggest update” and ”heist”? Cruise ship heist?

the Northeast of the map is largely unused. from the highway to the northeast (north of the Humane Labs) there is an area of mountains that literaly nobody uses. Maybe something is going to appear in that area? Maybe some sort of secret underground military base with an underwater section? That is my bet.

North Yankton is just too small for anything. I don´t believe they are going to add that to the game, but who knows...

I 'mean not that optimistic. Probably just an updated building already in game just like the casino. 

Best case scenario : North Yankton or some kind of Santa Catalina Island spoof.

The trailer for it on PS5 claim ”Expanded”, but also ”2021”. The ”entirely new location” is ”later this year”. It might be the same location.

”Rockstar Games confirms that Grand Theft Auto V will launch on the new generation of consoles, including PlayStation 5, in the second half of calendar 2021.

If you can just ‘change race type’ to Open Wheel we will be spoilt for choice. I’ll publish a few straight away...

If we have to build from scratch I probably won’t bother, I know a few who will though.

I don't find it underwhelming or overwhelming.  I am perfectly whelmed.

Anything new after 7 years is a good thing IMO.
